Beware of recent wave of spoofing scam emails

Dear District 57 Toastmasters,

There is a recent wave of spoofing scam emails seemingly being sent by our officers to other D57 members in our district. The emails usually ask for money for some sort of personal emergency. No one would OR should send these types of emails to D57 members.

To figure out it is clearly a scam: The typical scam is not using our accounts directly but is using the account email name (called spoofing), but a completely different one is being used to send the email. To check, you can click on the email user and see the address NAME of a D57 account, but the sender email attached to the named email is different.

Please ignore and delete the emails when you receive them.
