THANK-YOU District 57 YOU Answered the Call!

Last weekend you received the weekly Digest with a Call for Help with the D3 Area Contest. Wow!!! Did you ever answer my call for help. Not only did folks step-up for the various functionary roles, but there were members in the room at the ready to fill in wherever needed. And when we needed a little extra boost, you were there. There were 25 in the room, including Toastmasters and guests and 2 online. We had Immediate Past and Past District Directors/Governors from D57 and D4. We had D57 Division Directors, Area Directors, Club Officers, and other District and Club volunteers. Congratulations to Evaluation Contest winners: 1st Place: Aki McKinzie and 2nd Place: Particia DeSa and International Speech Contest winners: 1st Place: Esther Chambers and 2nd Place winner: Leslie Burton.
I was reinvigorated by the energy in the room, reflecting all that it means to be a Toastmaster!
Thank-you!!!!!!!!!

Specialty Clubs:
An Important part of the Toastmaster Offerings!
Several prospective clubs are working toward being chartered. One of those is the club that Tiffany Dawn Jones and I are sponsoring, Time Travelers Toastmasters. This week we heard a story about DNA changing a family tree. Next week, Thursday, March 20 from 6-7:30 we will hear from Kristina Ahuja, a Genealogist who uses DNA testing extensively to track down missing and unknown relatives. She will be covering the technical aspects of how it works. This club is designed to give us all a platform for sharing family stories and how we went about discovering those stories. Join us. You won’t regret it.
