Memorial Service for Tevis Thompson, DTM

Tevis Taylor Thompson, Jr.
Dec. 30, 1946 – June 24, 2014

Tevis, a Bay Area Native, former resident of Orinda, Concord and and made his home in Martinez, California, passed away at age 67 on June 24, 2014 after a courageous fight. Tevis was born to Virginia and Tevis Thompson on December 30, 1946 in Oakland, CA.

Tevis grew up in Orinda, CA, where he attended Gloretta Elementary School, Pine Grove Intermediate and Miramonte High School. Tevis was a Bankruptcy Trustee. Tevis describe Toastmasters as his second biggest to himself. The first was to quit smoking. Tevis earned multiple education awards as well multiple Distinguished Toastmaster. He served as Area Governor, Division Governor, District Governor  and served in numerous leadership roles culminated by his election to a two year term on the Toastmasters International Board of Directors in 2007.

Tevis is survived by his wife Pam, a sister Mindy Witt, his daughters, Cynthia Howlett and her Steve of Cameron Park, CA; Kathryn O’Rourke of Chicago Park, CA, Suzanne Briel and husband Matt of Gold River, CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord, CA with a reception to follow. –
