FAQs
Q: When and where is the North Bay Club Officer Make-up Training?
A: This training is hosted by Redwood Credit Union, 3033 Cleveland Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, on your choice of either: Wednesday, July 9th at 5:30pm to 8:30pm or Tuesday, July 15th at 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Plan to arrive at 5:30pm to sign-in, mingle, grab/share some food and choose a good seat. The training will begin at 6:00pm.
Q: Who should attend?
A: EVERY TOASTMASTER IS INVITED! All club officers should attend to get credit for semi-annual officer training and earn credit for your club. If you are curious about club leadership, you would benefit from attending, as well.
Q: Where do I park?
A: You may park in the back parking lot behind the Credit Union.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: The training is completely free. The organizers and trainers are volunteers committed to quality and convenient officer training in the North Bay.
Q: What if I’ve held this office before or attended officer training before?
A: Each club officer is required to attend training every 6 months whether your club elects officers yearly or twice a year. Club Officer Make-up Training is interactive and up-to-date. Plus, during Club Offcier Make-up Training, you’ll have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas with others, which makes every session unique.
Q: How do I get credit for attending the officer training?
A: After registering for Club Officer Make-up Training, you attend the training for your specific officer position. You must stay for the full session and make sure to sign the attendance sheet at the training. We use the class attendance sheet to inform Toastmasters International that you attended and therefore will get credit for your club.
Q: Do I need to attend both training sessions?
A: No. You only need to attend and sign into one evening session either Wednesday, July 9th orTuesday, July 15th.
Q: What if I hold more than one office?
A: Register for training for each office held, even if they are in the same club. Make sure to sign the attendance sheet at the training for each office.
Q: How does my club get DCP Credit for me attending Club Officer Make-up Training?
A: When you are the officer on record with Toastmasters International, attend and sign in at club officer training; this will give your club credit for having an officer trained for the July 1 – June 30 Distinguished Club Program.
Q: Do I need to stay for the whole 2.5 hours?
A: Yes. To get credit for officer training, attending the general session and the officer-specific sessions are required. Both are included in this training session.
