Conference Breakout Sessions

In addition to the keynote speech by William Hung, a former American Idol contestant and current motivational speaker, we will have two breakout periods during our conference, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each period will feature three concurrent session options. Come conference day, you will have the opportunity to attend one session in the morning as well as one in the afternoon.

The Magic of Fear: Embracing Change to Achieve Success

Many people assume that feeling fear is a sign of weakness or a precursor to failure. On the contrary, fear is a weapon of the strong. Fear does not need to be banished. It needs to be acknowledged and overcome. In short, fear is essential for success. This workshop will give participants the ability to identify and harness their fears, and detailed strategies to achieve success.

Eleanor Lumsden is a Consultant + Professor of Law who teaches strategies to help companies inspire, engage, and retain their best talent, while fostering diverse and inclusive workspaces. Eleanor has over 20 years of professional development experience, including as an attorney, law professor, and founder of Eleanor Lumsden Consulting. Through her employee engagement work, Eleanor simplifies challenging concepts into manageable take-aways. She has taught hundreds of students as a tenured law professor at Golden Gate University, is currently on leave as a visiting professor at the Nova Law School in Lisbon, Portugal, and is especially passionate about boosting communication effectiveness with millennial employees. Eleanor hosts a career development vlog on YouTube meant to inspire and challenge workers at all stages of their careers. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton and her law degree from New York University. She is the immediate past president of the Lakeview Toastmasters Club in Oakland, California.
