Online Open House Experience Incentive

Running online open houses is easy if you work as a team. Learn best practices, tips and tricks here to run a successful online open house (there are key differences between a virtual and in-person open house). Now – the incentive:

Earn $50 in District Bucks for your club by running an online open house  To get reimbursed, email openhouse@d57tm.org the following within 30 days of your event. 

    • An advertisement of your open house on social media/email to former members/all guests you’ve had in the past
    • An open house agenda
    • Your online guest book
    • Which guest(s) became member(s)?  You should have at least three guests or at least one new member.
    • A photo/screenshot of your online open house.

Not sure what qualifies as an open house? Here’s a short definition and purpose of a Toastmasters Club Open House:

Definition:

  • An event that is planned, organized, promoted and hosted by a Toastmasters Club at their regular club meeting day, time and location.
  • Events that are not hosted by a Toastmasters Club, such as community events or events sponsored by other organizations, such as college career fairs, Farmers Markets, etc. do not qualify as a Toastmasters Club Open House

Purpose: there are two purposes of an Open House:

  • To provide members with practice in collaboration and teamwork, building valuable skills that can be applied outside of Toastmasters as well as within the club, adding value for club members
  • To grow the club by attracting new members

Want to Experience Excellence? Earn rewards tailored to your club. Every club has 2 personalized goals to accelerate your success this year. Earn a $25 reward for each goal. The reward will be $25 or $50 in District Bucks to your club. 

The Gem Awards will be tabulated and ready for reimbursement between April 1st and May 30th.

2021-2022 Incentives

What? When is it happening? How Much? Who? How?
Open House July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022

The incentive is $40 per Open House for up to 10 Open Houses this year (7/1/21 – 6/30/22).

There is an additional $10 incentive for any guest of that Open House who becomes a member within 30 days of the Open House.

There will also be a $100 incentive for the club which has the most new members as a result of Open Houses held through 6/30/22.

·Club Sponsors (or equivalent spark plug) can also get $75 in TI gift certificates for every club they start.

The Gem Awards – All New for 2021-2022!

Want to Experience Excellence? Earn recognition and rewards for your club’s improvements on the Distinguished Club Program!  Clubs can earn $25, $50 or even $75 in District Bucks, depending on how they do!  This award recognizes clubs that step up one or more DCP ranks from last year, or maintain the highest level of President’s Distinguished.

Opal status: Increase DCP by one rank – $25

Raise your club’s DCP status from last year one level by the end of the year, by going from not distinguished (or new club) to Distinguished, Distinguished to Select Distinguished, Select to President’s Distinguished, or maintaining President’s Distinguished.

Jade Status: Increase DCP by two ranks – $50

Raise your club’s DCP status from last year two levels by the end of the year, by going from not distinguished (or a new club) to Select Distinguished or Distinguished to President’s Distinguished.

Diamond status: Increase DCP by three ranks – $75

Raise your club’s DCP status from last year by three ranks by going from not distinguished (or a new club) to President’s Distinguished. Wow!

The Gem Awards will be tabulated and ready for credit between March-end closing (mid-April) and year-end closing 2021-2022 (official results available late July 2022).

Meetup to Grow your Club

Meetup is subsidized by District 57 Toastmasters to help members of the public learn more about Toastmasters and how we can help them meet their educational goals. Clubs can take advantage of Meetup to attract guests and grow their membership.

Want to get your club on Meetup? Fill in the club intake form at tinyurl.com/GetYourClubOnMeetup and someone will contact you with next steps. Clubs must meet at least 3 of the 4 following criteria to be accepted onto Meetup at this time:

  • 12 or more members (if less, need to meet all 3 of the following criteria).
  • People and processes in place to warmly welcome guests and ensure they have a great experience and want to come back.
  • An informative guest packet to take home, learn more about Toastmasters and your club.
  • Processes in place to follow-up with every guest, to welcome them back and ask them to join.
