Launching Speakers Bureau

By Gary McKinsey

Are you looking for more speaking opportunities?

What a silly question! You are a Toastmaster…Of course, you are!

Now, are you looking for more speaking opportunities outside of your club?

The key to mastery in public speaking is Stage Time, Stage Time, Stage Time — Darren LaCroix, 2001 World Champion of Public Speaking

If you answered yes, then you will be pleased to know that we are launching the perfect program for you, Speakers Bureau!

Hello, my name is Gary McKinsey, and I am a member of Heart2Heart Toastmasters in Oakland. I am also District 57 Speakers Bureau Chair.

While I am relatively new to District 57, I am not new to Toastmasters. I have been a Toastmaster for over twenty years and a past president of the National Speakers Association of Northern California.

The Program

The Speakers Bureau’s goal is to help you develop your speaking opportunities by speaking both within Toastmasters and outside of Toastmasters.

  • This is a perfect time to be a virtual guest speaker at TLIs (Toastmasters Leadership Institute, designed for training club officers) and Toastmasters clubs throughout the world.
  • Rotary international has formed an alliance with Toastmasters. Rotary clubs, like many organizations, have a need for speakers on an ongoing basis.

The Speakers Bureau will help increase your visibility and speaking opportunities.

One sure way of honing your speaking skills is to speak more often.

In the words of Toastmasters 2001 World Champion of Public Speaking Darren LaCroix, the key to mastery is “Stage Time, Stage Time, Stage Time.”

Join me!

Today, I am extending an invitation to you to consider joining me and getting in on the ground floor of building the District 57 Speakers Bureau.

I am looking for at least one individual from each of the divisions to form the core group.

Sound interesting?

Can you see yourself sharing your message …

… experiencing that feeling of accomplishment as you hear the applause as you conclude your speech?

Does this tug at your heartstrings?

If your answer is yes, then please send an email to SpeakersBureau@d57tm.org!

More details regarding submissions and logistics will be coming soon, but take that first step and let me know your interest!

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
