District 57 will be holding its Candidate Showcase on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 7 pm.

All candidates (nominated and floor candidates, unopposed and contested) are expected to be present to participate in the Showcase.
This is an opportunity to hear your candidates for 2023-2024 District Leadership answer some questions which will give you insight into their skills and plans for next program year. We think of Candidates Showcase as Table Topics on steroids for leaders.
We will follow Toastmasters International format and timing. It is up to the candidates to manage their time and answer questions as completely and succinctly as possible. Timing cards will be shown as follows: Green at 4 minutes, Yellow at 5 minutes, Red at 5:45, and candidates will be muted at 6 minutes. The chair will encourage you to go to your closing statement once the Yellow card is shown.
Candidates will have the opportunity for an opening or closing statement. Timing will begin after the chair asks the first question and the candidate begins their answer will continue uninterrupted. Candidates who wish to make a closing statement will interrupt either the chair or themselves at the appropriate time with the phrase “I would like to go to my closing statement” and then proceed without acknowledgement from the chair.
Candidates will be sequestered in a breakout room until it is their time to receive questions.
There will be no questions from the audience.

Qualified candidates who want to learn more about any role or run for the open roles should notify the District Leadership Committee Chair, mosur@toastmasters.org, at least seven (7) days prior to the business meeting of their intent to run from the floor so they can be interviewed by the District Leadership Committee. Roles that are not filled are subject to appointment by the incoming District Director and approved at the following business meeting.
