On March 31, Southern Marin Toastmasters Club 1441 turned a virtual club meeting into a “Love Roast” to celebrate member Ben Parker’s 100th Birthday.
RoastMaster Chuck Ballinger led this special event with a “This is Your Life” slide show, Table Topics, prepared speeches (including one by Mr. Parker), a parody skit and a VidHug virtual group birthday card. Current and former club members attended, wanting to share their love for the birthday honoree.
Club President Kathleen Mozena said, “Ben Parker is our golden Toastmaster who puts the ‘Master’ in ToastMaster. Ben’s actual 100th Birthday is April 1st, 2021, and Ben likes to remind people that he is no April Fool!”
Ben enjoys Toastmasters because of the “nice people” and “it keeps the mind sharp”. Sounds like an inspiring reason to stay involved with Toastmasters! Ben is an author, artist and speaker as well as an all-around great guy with a wealth of wisdom and wit. A good sense of humor is one of Ben’s top tips for a long healthy life.
